January - NWEA MAP
Students will be taking the MAP assessment in January. The MAP, Measure of Academic Progress, assessment is computer based and gives immediate feedback to students in the areas of math and reading. Many students will be tracking their progress and measuring growth compared to their fall score. Students will test again at the end of the school year to see growth over the school year.
OCTOBER: Looking at Data
Westerly Middle School has been collecting and reviewing many sources of data that have been collected.
After finishing the NWEA MAP testing window, teams have been analyzing the results to inform instructional practices. Also, using NWEA MAP data along with classroom information, teams are planning and using intervention blocks to help students meet with success.
In the month of September, students will be taking the MAP, Measures of Academic Progress, assessment through the Northwest Educational Association (NWEA). This assessment will be baseline data on students' abilities in the areas of reading and mathematics. It is computer based and adaptive. The information provided will guide teachers instruction and give a road map for student progress throughout the year. This assessment will be taken again in the winter and spring to monitor student growth.
